California Car / Permit practice question · Road Signs
A red circle with a diagonal red slash drawn over a symbol tells you that:
Answer choices
- The action shown inside the circle is not allowed— Correct answer
- The action shown is strongly recommended
- You are given the right-of-way for that movement
- The road ahead is permanently closed
Why this is the answer
A red circle with a red line through it is a prohibition. The picture inside shows what you may not do, and words may be added. It does not recommend the action, give you the right-of-way, or mean the road is closed. Follow the sign's instruction, just as you would with any red-and-white regulatory sign.
