Texas Car / Permit practice question · Road Signs
While driving you see a yellow diamond-shaped sign with a plus-shaped intersection symbol. What does it indicate?
Answer choices
- Two-way traffic is ahead; oncoming vehicles share the road.
- The overpass or structure ahead has limited height clearance.
- A traffic lane ends ahead; merge with the adjacent lane.
- A crossroad intersection is ahead; watch for entering traffic.— Correct answer
Why this is the answer
A cross-road sign tells you a road crosses yours ahead. Slow down and watch for cross traffic, looking carefully in all directions. It does not mean oncoming traffic, limited height, or a lane that ends. A sign showing the road intersecting a highway also asks you to look both ways and be prepared to stop.
